How to make Hokey Pokey

EQUIPMENT:
50g of sugar
1/2 tablespoon of water
1 tablespoon of golden syrup
1/2 tablespoon if bicarbonate of soda

METHOD:

  1. Put the ingredients except for the bicarbonate of soda into a saucepan and place on a low heat
  2. Stir until the sugar has dissolved. Raise the heat slightly so that it bubbles, and stir occasionally until you cannot feel any sugar at the bottom of the pan. 
  3. take off the heat
  4. Aff bicarbonate of soda and stir!
  5. Watch what happens - it should all froth up with bubbles in the pan 
  6. Pour out into your tinfoil sheet
  7. Allow to cool  

This is what our Hokey Pokey looks like. The sweetness is perfect and the texture is fine. I think we're the only team who got the perfect result. This is the first time we cook something in science, so I'm really happy because I like Science and cooking.
