First Contact :
Africans and Europeans had made contact before slavery through the Mediterranean Sea.
European set sail to Africa-First Slave taken :
In the late 1400s Portuguese sail to Africa in search of Gold. They sail to West Africa. Over time Slave ports are set up and trading begins with African Kings. They trade guns for slaves.
Other European nation follow and set up slave post :
The British, French, Danish and Dutch all do the same. They bring guns and weapons to trade with African Kings.
The first passage:
The voyage from Europe to Africa becomes known as the first passage. The cargo carried are guns and other weapons.
